Learn How to Setup Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© and Indicator with Set Files – Video

Before beginning your setup, adjust the max bars in chart to 1000 via MT4/5 >> Tools >> Options >> Charts. High settings, such as thousands or millions, may slow the Indicator significantly as it calculates data from 10 indicators across numerous bars.

Check your broker's server time in the Marketwatch window. The provided set files are tailored for ICMarkets GMT+3 servers, so if your broker's time is GMT+0, all trading hours should be shifted back by 3 hours as demonstrated below: 

Start Hour: 12

Start Minutes: 00

End Hour: 22

End Minutes: 50

you need to change it to:

Start Hour: 9

Start Minutes: 00

End Hour: 19

End Minutes: 50

Notice: By loading the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© with default settings, the displayed arrows won’t match the ones the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© uses for trading based on specific set files. To correct this, load the respective indicator set files as described above. 

Warning! For trading a single set file, the default 3% Risk % per trade works well. If you plan to trade a few set files, lower the Risk % to 1%-2%. For trading all recommended set files, it’s highly advised to set the Risk % to 0.5%-1% per trade per symbol for proper risk management.

1. Ensure your MQL5 account has adequate funds, as paying with your balance is easier than using a credit card during the transaction.

2. Search for Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© on the MQL5.com website and visit its page.

3. Press Buy or Rent to finalize your purchase.

4. Decide on your payment method and press the green Next button to proceed to the next step. 

5. After your payment is successfully processed, open your MT4/5 terminal to proceed with downloading and installing the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5©.

6. Make sure you are logged into your MT4/5 terminal using your MQL5 account username rather than email, Facebook, or other logins. My username, for example, is the final part of my profile URL: eleanna74 at https://www.mql5.com/en/users/eleanna74.

7. Go to MT4/5 >> Tools >> Options >> Community tab and check that you’re logged in with your MQL5 account username.

8. Open the Market tab in your MT4 Terminal window and click Purchased on the left side. Find the product you’ve just bought and click the blue Install button next to it. If you’re using MT5, access the Navigator window, click on the Market folder, and select Purchases. The Purchases window will show up on the right, where you can press the Install button for your newly purchased product. 

Notice: If you can't see your purchase when you click the Purchased option, check the below mentioned issues:

Make sure that:

• that you have all the latest Windows Updates installed

• that you have Internet Explorer or Microsoft Edge latest version installed on your computer or VPS

• that you are using the latest build of MetaTrader 4/5

• that you are logged into your MQL5 account in MT4/5 >> Tools >> Options >> Community tab, using your login - NOT your email

• that your MQL5 account password is less than 10 characters (if your password is 10 or more characters - change MQL5 account password here)

In case you still don't see the product on the list of your purchases in the terminal, try the following:

1. Close ALL your MetaTrader terminals

2. Go to C:\Users\{user name}\AppData\Roaming\MetaQuotes\Terminal\Community

3. Delete all files starting from mql4.market.* and mql5.market.*

4. Open the MetaTrader terminal

5. Try to install your product again

9. If you'd like to receive notifications for the Matrix Arrow signals, you can set up email, terminal, and push notifications on your MT4/5 terminal. These will be sent by the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5©, rather than the EA.

10. Navigate to MT4/5 >> Tools >> Options >> Email tab, and provide the required email and server details to enable your notifications. Below is an example of the details you need, along with a list of popular email providers and their SMTP configurations.

• In the SMTP server field you need to put your email provider’s SMTP address, you can see most of the popular providers below.

• In the SMTP login field you need to put your full email, for example: johnsmith@gmail.com

• In the SMTP password field, you need to put your email’s password.

• In the From and To fields, you need to put your full name a comma and then your email again, for example: John Smith, johnsmith@gmail.com

11. To set up push notifications, go to MT4/5 >> Tools >> Options >> Notifications tab and enter the MQL5 ID of your mobile or tablet. This will allow you to receive push notifications on your devices. You can find your MQL5 ID in the MT4/5 mobile app by going to Settings >> Messages.

Your MQL5 ID is also available in your MQL5 account’s profile under Settings >> Security.

12. To configure Terminal alerts, simply tick the correct option in MT4/5 >> Tools >> Options >> Events tab. 

13. In order for the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© to work and trade signals from the Matrix Arrow Indicator, both products must be installed on your terminal. Loading both the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© and Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© on your chart is highly recommended for the best trading experience.

Open the chart for your desired symbol, then navigate to the Navigator window in MT4/5 on the left side of the terminal, find the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© under Indicators >> Market, and drag it to the chart (or double-click to apply).

14. When the Indicator's settings window opens, you can adjust all the parameters as per your preferences and check the notification settings in the Inputs tab. The default settings of the indicators are specially optimized and are ready to be used with all types of market conditions.

15. Once you've finished setting up the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5©, click OK. The default settings for all 10 indicators are pre-optimized for use on any instrument and timeframe. The Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© will now be visible on your MT4/5 terminal. Simply adjust the Matrix height with your mouse, and you’ll be ready to start trading! 

16. Attach the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© to the chart. You can locate it in the Market folder under Experts in the Navigator window of your MT4/5 terminal. Drag it to the chart or double-click to add it.

17. The Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© settings window will open. In the Common tab, make sure you select the Allow Auto/Algo Trading and Allow Modification of Signals options. 

18. In the Inputs tab, to enable the on-chart Trade Panel for trading with the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5©, you need to set the first Use Panel option to true and change the second Used Indicator setting* to the Matrix Arrow Indicator.

* The default setting is Moving Average because, for MQL5.com Market validation, the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© (which must be bought separately) would otherwise be required, which is not technically feasible. 

19. If you intend to trade manually or automatically with the on-chart Trade Panel, there's no need for further configuration. Just click OK, and you're ready to begin.

20. The Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© Trading Panel is now located on your chart, right above the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© Matrix window. You can drag it to any spot on the chart, usually at the top left. Enable Auto/Algo Trading on your MT4/5 terminal, and you're ready to start trading. 

Tip: If you find candlesticks above your Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5©, right-click on your chart, choose Properties, go to the Common tab, and uncheck the option for Chart on foreground. 

21. To trade manually, choose your timeframe and set the essential parameters for your trades. For example, if you want to open trades with a fixed lot size, enter the desired value (e.g., 0.10) in the Fixed Lot Size field. If you prefer to risk a percentage of your account per trade, select the Risk % option and enter your percentage (e.g., 2.0%). Adjust the Take Profit, Stop Loss, Break Even, and/or Trailing Stop Loss as needed. To close trades with an opposite signal, check the Close by Opposite Signal box. 

22. You’re all set to place your first manual trade—just click either the Sell by Market or Buy by Market button. The trade will be executed, and your chosen Stop Loss and/or Take Profit values will be displayed on the chart as well as in the Terminal/Toolbox window. 

23. To trade automatically using the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© Trade Panel, enter your preferred settings and choose the Full Algorithmic Trading option. This will ensure that the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© opens a buy trade on each new blue/long arrow signal and a sell trade on each new red/short arrow signal. 

WARNING: It’s not possible to transfer the Trade Panel settings to your MQL5 VPS. To trade automatically on the cloud using the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© on the MQL5 VPS, set Use Panel: false and adjust the internal settings of the EA as shown below. Then, click the Auto/Algo Trading button on your MT4/5 terminal to synchronize with your MQL5 VPS.

24. Another option for trading is using the provided set files for various symbols without the on-chart Trade Panel. Attach the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© to the chart and timeframe of your chosen instrument, then open the EA window and click the Load button at the bottom right to load the relevant set file. After pressing the Auto/Algo Trading button on your MT4/5 terminal, you’re ready to trade fully automatically. The small EA icon at the upper-right corner of your chart will turn smiling and green, confirming that the Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© is trading correctly.

25. The final task is ensuring that power or network disruptions don’t interfere with your trading. By utilizing an MQL5 VPS (virtual private server), you can have your Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© and Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5 trading on the cloud around the clock, 24/7. 

26. If you haven't acquired a virtual server for your trading account, right-click your account number in the Navigator window and choose >> Register a Virtual Server to proceed. 

27. In the Virtual Hosting Wizard window that opens, select the most appropriate plan for you and click Next to proceed. 

28. Once you’ve completed your payment, I recommend ensuring that your MQL5 account has the necessary funds and using the MQL5 payment method available on the left side. 

29. Once your MQL5 VPS purchase is completed, you need to synchronize your trading environment with your virtual server. Right-click on the MQL5 VPS in the Navigator window and select >> Synchronize experts, indicators. 

Notice: Don’t forget to load both the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© and Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© on each chart before migrating your local setup to the MQL5 VPS. If the Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© isn’t loaded, the MQL5 VPS Journal will display an indicator loading error. 

30. After a few moments, the smiling face of your Expert Advisor will change to a sad face, and the Auto/Algo Trading button will be disabled. This shows that your trading environment is now successfully synchronized with your MQL5 VPS. 

31. For confirmation that synchronization has been completed, access the MQL5 VPS Journal logs. Right-click on your MQL5 VPS in the Navigator window and select >> Journals. 

32. Within the Journal logs of your MQL5 VPS, look for the following message: 

33. Now that your Matrix Arrow EA MT4/5© and Matrix Arrow Indicator MT4/5© are successfully synchronized, they are running in the cloud. 

34. You can close your MT4 terminal and computer and be sure that your Expert Advisor will trade 24/7. 

35. The only thing to do every couple of days is check the MQL5 VPS Journal to ensure that everything is functioning smoothly. 

WARNING: After syncing your trading environment with the MQL5 VPS, DO NOT click the Auto Trading button again in your local MT4/5 terminal, as this will cause the Expert Advisor to trade twice, which is a serious risk.
